Swimmers from entry level to internationally qualified pursue swimming excellence with a focus on technique, fitness and love of the sport. Competitive programs are wide-ranging from entry-level to national level.

Group assignments at the time of registration will remain for the entire season.  This is to ensure consistency in coaching, goal setting and training schedule.  The goal is to develop technique and endurance in all competitive events for their age group.

Attaining the criteria below does not guarantee group placement. The coaching staff and the Board reserve the right to place swimmers in groups based on overall skill level, competitive experience, maturity, readiness for the next level, training intensity and size of groups.

National – Swimmers are in Grade 10 and above and have attained multiple Provincial times in their age group.  They are committed to attaining AGN times. Swimmers must attend all meets and practices (95%) and are committed to intensive training. Training camps are mandatory. 14.25 hours in water, 2.5 hours dryland + 2 hours independent dryland per week.

Senior Gold – Swimmers are in Grade 9 or above and have attained multiple Central Region times in their age group and are committed to attaining Provincial times.  Swimmers must attend all meets and practices (95%) and are fully committed to intensive training.  Limit 15 swimmers.  12.75 hours in water, 2.5 hours dryland + 2 hours independent dryland per week.

Senior Blue – Swimmers are in Grade 9 and up and are committed to attaining multiple Central Region times.  Swimmers must attend all meets and practices (90%) and are committed to working hard.  Limit 15 swimmers. 8.5 hours in water, 2.0 hours dryland

Junior Gold – Swimmers are in Grade 7 & 8 and have attained multiple Central Region times in their age group.  They are committed to attaining Festival times.  Swimmers must attend all meets and practices (90%) and are committed to working hard.  Limit 15 swimmers. 8.25 hours in water, 1.75 hours dryland

Junior Blue – Swimmers are in Grades 6-8 and are committed to attaining Central Region times. Training focusses on the strength, endurance and technique required to move to more intense training and distance events. Swimmers must maintain an 80% attendance and attend the majority of meets. Limit 30 swimmers. 6.75 hours in water, .5 hours dryland.

Novice Gold – Swimmers are in Grades 5-6.  Developing well and are on track to progress to Junior. Training is more intense and continues to build on endurance, technique and strength. Limit 30 swimmers. 5.25 hours in water

Novice Blue – Swimmers are in Grades 5 and below. Have graduated from the Swim Skills program or have  been assessed by the coaches at tryouts. Training focuses on building endurance and technique.  Limit 30 swimmers. 3 hours in water

University – Swimmers registered in a Varsity swim program.  Swimmers train with our National or Senior Gold groups during school breaks.
