Whitby Dolphins Medal at Ontario Summer Festival and Ontario Provincial Championships

Recently, the Whitby Dolphins sent qualified swimmers to two Provincial Championships  – Ontario Summer Festival and Ontario Age Group Long Course Championships.

Competing in Ottawa at the Ontario Summer Festival, a Jr. provincial meet which features the best 13yrs and under swimmers in the province were:  Mccaley Campbell(10), Ethan Placek(12) & Will Mitchell(10). Mccaley Campbell was outstanding taking the gold medal in the 50 free and silver in the 50 backstroke. Ethan Placek had a stellar weekend taking the silver medal in both the 50 and 100 free. Both swimmers attained 100% best times.

Ontario Provincial Championships is the fastest Long Course Provincial age group meet(13yrs and over) in the country with the hardest qualifying times in Canada. Big congratulations to Judson Nickerson(13) who swam an incredible new personal best in the 1500m freestyle and took the silver medal! Judson also swam a personal best in the 200m free and finished in the top ten in the 200 free and 200 backstroke. Ben Potvin(14) had very successful weekend swimming all best times and breaking the 1 minute barrier in the 100free with a 59.82 swim.

Whitby Dolphins Medal at Central Region Long Course Championships

The Whitby Dolphins Swim Club recently sent a team of 18 qualified swimmers, to the 2014 Central Region Long Course Championships!

Central Region Long Course Championships brings together hundreds of the fastest swimmers in Ontario and is always a thrill to watch. To compete in this championship meet, swimmers must attain the Central Region qualifying standards.

Gabby Hurst ruled the backstroke and took bronze in both the 100m and 200m backstroke with two new personal best times!

Meagan Schlottke broke the 30sec barrier and won a bronze medal in the exciting 50 free final.

Great personal bests and top 8 finishes by: Felipe Escobar, Cezar Hirsescu, Harrison Potvin

Congratulations to the following swimmers who met the tough qualifying times to compete at this championship meet: Jenah Barmania(10), Natasha Cvitkovic(11), Felipe Escobar(15), Eleni Fenton(11), Mia Gidge(10), Abbey Hawkins(11), Sarah Hawkins(14), Cezar Hirsescu(9), Gabby Hurst(14), Will Mitchell(10), Katie Morrell(13), Anna Potvin(11), Ben Potvin(14), Harry Potvin(15), Meagan Schlottke(14), Paige Shaw(9), Anne Vieira(15), Cameron Ward(14).
